ICD Pavilion. EXPO DUBAI 2020

The ICD Pavilion offers visitors an alternative, completely outdoor experience. Icaria Atelier’s design and theatrical lighting has created a striking labyrinthine wave structure made of natural bamboo from Bali (Indonesia), that generates a secluded and sheltered world of tall hedges. The experience is designed to provide visitors with an opportunity to relax along a route which is shaded by this ingenious hand-woven 72,000-piece bamboo structure, and punctuated by rest areas, soothing vegetation and water features. The exhibition content describes the activities of several prominent firms operating in diverse sectors under the umbrella of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), a sovereign investment fund which comprises some of the Emirate’s most outstanding consumer brands.

Scope of works: Visitor Experience Design from concept to completion; Construction Supervision; Media Production; as part of the Design & Build contract held by ALEC FITOUT.
