The TV programme “Los Reporteros” by Canal Sur presents its special edition for the 20th anniversary of Expo´92 in Seville. It was a great and very special period in the city´s history and for its inhabitants. We relive the same emotions through the eyes of the photographers who worked days and nights recording everything related to the Expo, its spaces, art, events and people. Today, thanks to Fernando Alda, Pepe Morón, Anna Elías, Luís Castilla, Atin Aya and Emilio Sanmartín the Expo´s archive has at its disposal great quantity of material that is being digitalized. For the moment around 40 thousand has been photographs processed.

“The Universal Exposition 1992 ment a radical transformation not only for the hosting city but for the region of Andalucía as well. Twenty years have passed since the celebration of the Expo´92, which coincided with the 5th century anniversary of the discovery of the America by Cristopher Columbus. For this ocasion, a special area was designated on the Cartuja Island where 112 nations, 23 international organisms, 6 companies and all the autonomous communities of Spain exhibited their most stricking messages with top technologies raising interest and admiration of the visitors. From April till October, Seville turned into the centre of the world´s attention with all the cultural activities, political, social and economical encounters. Around 20 milion people passed though the pavilions, raised with the most attractive leading architectural solutions. Moreover, the exposition was the opportunity to take a great step in modernization of the infrastructures and inversions that changed the quality of transportation system within Andalucía. The high speed train AVE and various highways were constructed for this occasion. Twenty years later Andalusians still remember Expo and the changes it brought.

To celebrate the anniversary of its opening, Los Reporteros recovered the image archive and the most significant moments of the six months in order to remind what was lived in that venue, that fit entire world in one small islad.” Los Reporteros, Canal Sur.
