Soon the works on the Interactive Museum of the History of Lugo (MIHL) will come to their end and we will get the opportunity to enjoy a garden-museum, the new work of architects Nieto Fuensanta and Enrique Sobejano. The project is a result of an international competition organized by the city of Lugo in 2007, won by a unique project which according to the city Mayor, will attract public to Lugo.

“The new museum will provide a unique experience, a walk through a landscape of plants and metal; through a light field glowing at night. This museum will be able to evoke the image of meadows and caves, walls and towers … a true metaphor of a landscape and culture that the inhabitants of Lugo carry in their memories. ” (Nieto and Sobejano)

The civil works budget amounts to 6.800.000 euros, to which we must add about 650.000 euros, for the project´s modifications addressing problems raised by the large amount of water in this part of the old Frigsa. The budget for the project of the musealization reaches 1,8 million.
