The Center for Contemporary Creation in Cordoba will open its doors 2013, since the works are already well advanced and is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. The center is located in the Miraflores Park, near the mosque and the river Guadalquivir in Córdoba, proposed as a candidate city European Capital of Culture 2016. The architectural proposal Nieto Sobejano, winners Aga Khan Award for Architecture distinguishes conservation projects and urban regeneration in areas of cultural significance, was the winner of an international competition which also included architects Dominique Perrault, Zaha Hadid, Coop Himmelblau and Cruz / Ortiz.

The architects were inspired by the laws of geometry used in the construction of the Mosque to submit a building closely connected to the past Cordoba.

El Centro, link the architectural space and public art, generating new modes of expression associated with the latest technologies and becoming a place for discussion and production of contemporary art.
